Some people are counting down until when they believe the world is coming to an end this month. I'm just counting down until summer. Summer as in the end of school rather than the actual season.
But first is the big push to finish the school year. For you that may mean finals and papers due. For my son, it means extra field trips and class celebrations (don't you miss kindergarten). For Wesley Foundation it's end of the year goodbyes, finals gift bags, a trip to Student Forum in Indiana and Wesley House applications for the coming year.
Summer...it's so close now you can taste it. And it tastes good- like a great big pile of candy.
Easter was so late this year that it is almost right on top of the end of the semester. New life has been showing through blossoms and bees and spring strawberries fresh from the local farm. The tired long nights of winter darkness are long gone, but the exhaustion of the long nights of study is only beginning.
Don't worry though, new life will come again. The semester will end. The summer will offer rest. You will be able to sleep...someday soon.
