Shannon is one of our Wesley Club leaders at UC Merced. She's in the Class of 2014 and is settling on her major. Right now she's leaning towards Political Science for prelaw. She has been planning to join the Air Force as an officer and do aircraft maintenance. But, if that doesn't work out she may become a judge.
Why did you choose UCM?
Partly because it offered better financial aid. Also, I wanted to stay in California but not too far from home.
What's it like to be at such a new school?
I like that it's small and things are new. It has a lot of potential to grow. I'm excited to say I was one of the first people to go here.
Why are you part of Wesley Campus Ministries?
I live in the Wesley House so I was introduced to it and said, sure, why not.
How do you hope to be different between now and when you graduate?
When I talk to upperclassmen they have a broad knowledge in their major and seem really intelligent. I hope I can learn as much- and retain the information!
What is a blessing you have received from Wesley Foundation?
Friends when I didn't know anybody moving here.
What is your prayer for the Wesley Foundation?
That it will grow and for the leaders not to get discouraged when that growth process is slow.
What is your favorite place on campus?
I like the room with the fish tanks in the library. My favorite place to study is the bridge in the library. And I love it when the cherry blossoms are blooming.
